Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Huddersfield for a Print/Signs Production Operative. The role involves:
- Operating and monitoring print and large-format machinery
- Preparing artwork files for production
- Ensuring accurate setup and alignment of materials
- Cutting, finishing, and assembling signage, displays, and graphics, including laminating, mounting, and basic installation work outside the workshop
- Maintaining equipment
- Managing stock of print media and substrates
- Following health and safety procedures
- Meeting production deadlines
- Quality checking completed work
- Packaging orders for dispatch
- Collaborating with colleagues and supervisors to prioritise jobs and resolve production issues

- Experience with print production processes, including large-format printing, vinyl cutting, and laminating, ideally in signage or display manufacturing
- Practical skills in handling materials and tools, such as trimming, mounting, and basic fabrication or assembly of signs and graphics
- Ability to read and work from design files or job sheets, with good attention to detail and accurate measurement and layout skills
- Basic IT skills and familiarity with print-related software or RIPs (e.g., Adobe or similar) are beneficial
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple jobs and meet deadlines in a production environment
- Commitment to safe working practices, including following workshop health and safety guidelines and maintaining a clean, orderly workspace
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a flexible, problem-solving approach and willingness to learn new techniques
- Previous experience in signage, print, display, or a similar manufacturing environment is desirable; relevant vocational training or apprenticeship is an advantage
- Full UK clean driving licence
