Are you looking for a purposeful career where your communication skills, judgement and life experience can help people make positive changes? HMP Millsike is recruiting Prison Custody Officers to help create a safe, respectful and rehabilitative environment.
Salary: £37,818.90 | 42 hours per week | Full training provided
Overview of the Role
This is much more than a security role. You will work directly with prisoners, colleagues and partner teams to maintain safety, encourage positive behaviour and support rehabilitation. No previous prison experience is required - we are looking for people with the right values, resilience and attitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for prisoners, staff and visitors.
- Build positive professional relationships and encourage constructive behaviour.
- Respond calmly and professionally to challenging situations and incidents.
- Support prisoners to engage with education, work and rehabilitation opportunities.
- Work closely with colleagues and partner services to support the daily prison regime.

Training and Benefits
Successful candidates will complete a fully-funded 9-week Initial Training Course at HMP Millsike. The role also offers 33 days' annual leave including Bank Holidays, ongoing development, wellbeing support and a range of employee benefits.
