Privacy Counsel - (Temporary Contract)
London
I'm currently working with a well known non-profit organisation that is looking to appoint a Privacy Counsel to join its Legal Department on a temporary basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a privacy professional with experience in UK GDPR and Data Protection who enjoys partnering with legal and business stakeholders to deliver practical, commercially focused privacy advice within a purpose driven organisation.
The role:
- Provide advice on a range of data protection and privacy matters across the organisation.
- Support the delivery of the organisation's privacy compliance programme and governance framework.
- Review projects, initiatives and business activities from a data protection perspective.
- Assist with compliance monitoring, risk management, audits and incident response.
- Support the handling of data subject rights requests and other privacy-related enquiries.
- Promote data protection awareness through training, guidance and stakeholder engagement.
- Work collaboratively with the Legal Department and stakeholders across the business to embed a culture of privacy compliance and best practice.

About you:

- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent legal qualification (or significant equivalent experience in data protection/privacy law).
- Experience advising on data protection and privacy matters within private practice, in-house legal, compliance function.
- Strong knowledge of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act
- An interest in working within a values-led non-profit organisation.
