What we do at Weir

We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably. Our planet’s future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. So, we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely, and create less waste. Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient, and more sustainable mining.

Support Privacy by Design and Default principles across projects and business initiatives. Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and AI Governance teams to embed privacy controls and manage privacy risk assessments, DPIAs, and incident investigations.
  • Data Governance: Implement and maintain enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, policies, and standards. Drive adoption of governance practices globally, establish data ownership and stewardship models, and facilitate governance forums. Support data quality, metadata, lifecycle, and master data management practices to promote data integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Risk, Compliance & Controls: Design and maintain privacy and data governance controls, conduct governance assessments, track risks, and support audits and regulatory enquiries. Develop governance metrics and embed requirements into organisational policies and processes.
  • AI Use Case Governance: Manage AI use case intake, approval, and monitoring processes ensuring governance controls are applied proportionate to risk. Facilitate escalation and decision-making for complex AI initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Enablement: Act as a trusted advisor on privacy and data governance. Partner with business leaders and teams to embed governance requirements, deliver training and awareness programs, and foster a culture of accountability and responsible innovation.

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
