About the Business
Data compliance isn't a support function at this business it's central to the product, commercial strategy and continued growth. We're partnering with a fast-growing, VC-backed B2B SaaS company behind one of Europe's leading sales intelligence and data platforms. Headquartered in one of London's most iconic office buildings, the business has scaled rapidly across Europe and the US and is entering an exciting new phase of growth.
The Role
Reporting to an exceptional Chief Legal Officer, this is a newly created Senior Legal Counsel role offering broad commercial exposure with privacy at its core. You'll take ownership of the global privacy programme while supporting the business on a range of commercial legal matters, working closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing and senior leadership.
You'll be the go-to legal adviser for privacy, helping the business build practical, scalable compliance frameworks while enabling innovation and growth. Alongside leading privacy initiatives, you'll advise on commercial contracts, AI governance and wider legal matters across the business. There will also be opportunities to travel across Europe and the US if this is something you desire but not a requirement.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the company's global privacy programme.
- Own privacy policies, governance frameworks, ROPA, retention policies and privacy notices.
- Embed privacy by design across product and engineering teams.
- Advise on AI governance, DPIAs and emerging regulation, including the EU AI Act.
- Review and negotiate DPAs and advise on commercial contracts.
- Support international data transfers, TIAs and global compliance initiatives.
- Deliver privacy training and provide practical advice to stakeholders across the business.
- Partner with senior leadership on privacy risk and strategic legal issues.
About You
You'll be a privacy specialist and a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working closely with the business and taking ownership of complex legal matters. While privacy is your core expertise, you'll also be comfortable supporting broader commercial legal work in a fast-paced technology environment.

Essential
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent).
- 5+ years' PQE.
- Strong expertise in UK GDPR, EU GDPR, CCPA and international data transfers.
- Experience advising technology or SaaS businesses on privacy compliance.
- Experience negotiating DPAs and commercial agreements.
- Knowledge of AI governance and emerging technology regulation.
- Strong stakeholder management and a pragmatic, commercial approach.
Desirable
- In-house experience within a technology or high-growth business.
- Background in B2B data, SaaS or adtech.
- International privacy experience.
- CIPP/E or equivalent qualification.
