Hertfordshire, UK | Five days a week, in-office | Free parking

Let me tell you about the person you'd be working for.

He's a founder, an entrepreneur, and by most definitions a maverick. He's a family man and operates with a level of energy that lets him go all in on both. Family and work, simultaneously, at full intensity. It's genuinely something to witness.

He's what I'd call a "proper nice guy." He's living his best life. He's building things his younger self could only have dreamed of. And he needs someone to help him keep it all running. That's where you come in.

This is a Private Assistant role, working alongside an existing Business Assistant.

Between the two of you, you'll divide and conquer. She handles the business side. You handle the private and family life. The Principal trusts you completely. You'll have access to everything.

Let me be specific about what "everything" means.

  • Multiple residences across the UK and the US. Each one staffed. You'll oversee the properties, maintenance, insurance, vendors, renewals, and every operational detail that comes with running homes on two continents.
  • A family calendar that carries the same weight as the business calendar. A meeting in Manchester and a family commitment in London, both happening the same day, both equally important. Your job is to already have quotes for trains, planes, automobiles, and helicopters before anyone asks. You need to be one step ahead. Not two. Not zero. One.
  • Travel logistics that shift constantly. School runs that don't. A Principal who moves fast and expects the infrastructure around him to move faster.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

About him, specifically.

  • He's direct. He doesn't always have time for small talk. But he'll admit when he's wrong, and he'll more often than not say thank you. In twenty years of placing Private Assistants, I can tell you that combination is rarer than it should be.
  • One of the most trusting founders I've come across. That trust is earned, but once it's there, it's total. You won't be managed. You'll be expected to manage.

About the office.

  • It's in Hertfordshire. It's utterly incredible. I don't use that word loosely. You're going to say goodbye to the commute. No more tube trains. No more sweaty, overcrowded carriages at 7:45am. Free parking. A workspace that makes you wonder why you ever tolerated Zone 1.
  • Five days a week, in the office. This isn't hybrid. This isn't "flexible Fridays." You'll be physically present because the role demands it. You and the Business Assistant need to be in lockstep, and that happens face-to-face.

Who this is for.

  • You live in Hertfordshire, or close enough that the drive is easy.
  • You can drive.
  • You've run a private life before, not just managed a diary.
  • You understand property management, household staff oversight, insurance renewals, travel logistics across multiple countries, and the particular rhythm of supporting someone with a young family.
  • You're not looking for a stepping stone. You're looking for a home.
  • You've worked for someone demanding and enjoyed it.
  • You've had full autonomy and not abused it.
  • You understand that "family first" means the school play is as important as the board meeting, and you plan accordingly.

Who this is not for.

  • If you want to work from home three days a week, this isn't it.

  • If you think Private Assistant means personal shopping and restaurant bookings, this isn't it.

  • If you need to be told what to do each morning, this isn't it.

  • If you read "helicopters" and thought I was being dramatic, I wasn't.
