Prestigious International Bank based in London, is seeking to appoint an additional Relationship Manager to join its growing Private Banking division.

This hire forms a key part of the bank’s strategic growth agenda for 2026 and will play a central role in strengthening client coverage, enhancing service delivery, and supporting the continued expansion of the Private Banking business.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop, manage, and deepen long-term relationships with high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), serving as their primary point of contact and ensuring their financial needs are consistently understood and met.
  • Identify opportunities to grow client portfolios through effective cross-selling and up-selling of the Bank’s products. Achieve assigned revenue and asset growth targets by acquiring new clients and expanding existing relationships.
  • International Travel every other month is required to support relationship development, conduct client meetings, and coordinate with regional stakeholders.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all regulatory and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies. This includes conducting sanctions screening, monitoring Politically Exposed Person (PEP) activity, overseeing large-value transactions, and tracking activity involving high-risk countries. Investigate customer activity to ensure alignment with CDD/KYC protocols and escalate significant exceptions to Operations, MLRO, or senior management as appropriate.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams such as Treasury, Settlements, and Operations to deliver high-quality, seamless service to clients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer files, conducting periodic reviews to assess the adequacy of presented documentation and KYC information.
  • Proactively inform clients of any changes to account terms or services provided by the Bank, where applicable.
  • Ensure timely and accurate execution of client requests, including transfers, cash orders, cheque book issuance, cash deposits, and general enquiries.
  • Consistently meet or exceed individual performance KPIs and customer service standards.
  • Assist in the development of business strategies and budgets related to Relationship Management activities and the broader Private Banking department.
  • Identify and escalate potential risks or compliance concerns to the appropriate senior managers promptly.

The Ideal Candidate

  • At least 5 years of proven experience in a customer service role within a retail financial services/Banking environment, with a strong track record of client satisfaction and relationship management.
  • Up-to-date understanding of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations, including JMLSG guidance, FCA rules, the 3rd EU Money Laundering Directive, and The Money Laundering Regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with the confidence to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently while meeting all compliance standards and maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Practical working knowledge of day-to-day banking activities and familiarity with core banking operating systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of retail banking products and associated compliance requirements.
  • Educated to degree level in relevant financial qualification or equivalent experience in a related role or industry.
  • CEMAP qualification is desirable.
