Private Client Executive – Sales / Business Development / Alternative Assets (Uncapped Commission)

About the role

Our client is a leading whisky cask investment company based in Edinburgh, helping private clients buy, store, and eventually sell casks of maturing Scotch. They manage a substantial portfolio for clients across dozens of countries and are recognised as one of the more trusted, transparent operators in this growing alternative asset space.

They are now looking for a driven, relationship-focused Private Client Executive to join their sales team as they continue to scale. This is a genuine business development role with warm-lead advantage: you'll have access to an existing database of thousands of customers, alongside the scope to build and own your personal client book from the ground up.

You'll be the primary point of contact for clients navigating cask ownership, whether purchasing for personal enjoyment or as an investment, guiding them with clarity, honesty, and a consultative approach. You'll manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to close.

No prior whisky industry experience is required; full training is provided. What matters most is a strong foundation in high value sales, relationship management, or client-facing business development, ideally within luxury or alternative assets (fine wine, art, classic cars, watches, or similar).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
