Full-time Tranent Competitive salary, commensurate with experience

Purpose of Role

We are seeking an experienced Private Client Paralegal to join our busy Tranent office. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive and expanding team, assisting with a broad range of private client matters and helping to meet increasing client demand.

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues to provide an efficient, professional and client-focused service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the administration of executries, including taxable and high-value estates.
  • Prepare wills and Powers of Attorney.
  • Assist in the administration of trusts.
  • Draft routine correspondence and legal documents.
  • Liaise with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and other third parties.
  • Maintain accurate records and case management systems.
  • Manage files efficiently and progress matters in a timely manner.
  • Provide excellent client care throughout every transaction.
  • Work collaboratively with solicitors and support staff across the firm.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Previous private client paralegal experience.
  • Knowledge of Scottish private client procedures and documentation.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

Desirable

  • Experience administering executries independently.
  • Experience preparing wills and Powers of Attorney.
  • Trust administration experience.
