Head of Private Client | Cheltenham | Legal 500 Firm | £140,000+ + Excellent Benefits | Hybrid

I’m currently working with a leading Legal 500 law firm in Cheltenham that is looking to appoint an experienced Head of Private Client to take over the leadership of an established and highly regarded team.

This is a significant senior appointment and an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Private Client lawyer looking to take ownership of an established practice, with a genuine pathway towards Equity Partnership for the right individual.

You’ll inherit a well-established team and high-quality client base, working alongside experienced Partners while taking responsibility for the continued growth, development and strategic direction of the Private Client practice.

The opportunity

You will:

  • Lead and develop an established Private Client team
  • Manage and oversee a high-quality caseload across Wills, Trusts, Estate Planning, Succession Planning, Probate and LPAs
  • Advise HNW individuals, families and business owners
  • Handle complex and high-value estates, trusts and succession planning matters
  • Play a key role in the strategic growth and development of the department
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and professional contacts
  • Support, mentor and develop lawyers within the team
  • Become increasingly involved in the wider leadership of the firm
  • Have a genuine opportunity to progress towards Equity Partnership

About you

You will ideally be

  • An experienced Private Client Solicitor with 8+ years’ PQE
  • STEP qualified or able to demonstrate equivalent technical expertise
  • Experienced across complex Wills, Trusts, Probate, Estate and Succession Planning matters
  • Comfortable advising HNW and UHNW clients
  • An experienced people manager with the ability to lead and develop a successful team
  • Commercially minded with an interest in business development and growing a practice
  • Looking for a senior position offering genuine influence, autonomy and long-term progression
