A rare chance to be a senior figure in a small, bespoke Private Client team while standing on the platform of a large international firm.
The Firm
This is a large international firm with a substantial UK presence and an established Birmingham office. Private Client sits within that wider platform, giving access to corporate, real estate and tax colleagues when matters demand it. Private Client here is a specialist, boutique style practice operating inside a firm of significant scale, meaning you get the autonomy and visibility of a small team alongside the clients and resources of a large one, with your contribution clearly visible to those who decide on promotions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Role
You will advise high net worth and ultra high net worth individuals, families and business owners on estate planning, succession and wealth preservation, taking strategic ownership of your matters from the outset.
Much of the work is collaborative, coordinating with accountants, tax advisers, trustees and HMRC to deliver joined up advice, with real scope to develop your own client relationships and profile in the Birmingham market. Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers forms part of the role.
