A highly regarded law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join its established Private Client team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a private client lawyer with strong technical expertise and experience advising high-net-worth individuals, families, and trustees. The successful candidate will handle a varied and complex caseload, while also contributing to the development of junior lawyers, client relationships, and the wider growth of the team.

The Role

  • Advise high-net-worth individuals, families, trustees, and business owners on a broad range of private client matters.
  • Provide specialist advice on wills, trusts, succession planning, tax planning, and estate administration.
  • Draft and review complex legal documentation, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney.
  • Advise clients on effective estate structuring and strategies to manage potential tax liabilities.
  • Develop strong, long-term relationships with clients and act as a trusted point of contact.
  • Work closely with colleagues across other practice areas where matters involve business interests, corporate structures, or complex family affairs.
  • Support and mentor junior members of the team, sharing technical knowledge and helping to develop their careers.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and strategic development of the Private Client practice.
  • Take an active role in networking, client development, and business development opportunities.
  • Assist with developing the team's profile and identifying opportunities to grow the client base.
  • Maintain consistently high standards of technical work, client service, and regulatory compliance.

The Successful Candidate

  • 6+ years' PQE within a Private Client environment.
  • Strong experience advising high-net-worth clients on complex private client matters.
  • A broad technical background covering areas such as trusts, wills, succession, tax, and estate administration.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality legal documentation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with sophisticated clients.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, or supporting junior lawyers.
  • A commercial and proactive approach to client service.
  • Previous involvement in business development, networking, or developing new client relationships.
  • The ability to manage a busy workload effectively while meeting deadlines and maintaining regular communication with clients.
  • Strong IT and case-management skills.
