Job Title: Wills and Probate Solicitor

Location: Bolton (hybrid working)
Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are looking for a qualified Solicitor to join a busy, established Wills & Probate team in Bolton.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, self-motivated individual who is keen to:

  • Take ownership of their own caseload
  • Support and supervise a team
  • Develop their client following
  • Play an important role in the continued development of the office

The Role

You will manage your own caseload and provide a professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate service to clients, including elderly clients and families dealing with bereavement.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload and maintaining accurate case management records
  • Advising on and preparing Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)
  • Dealing with Probate and Administration of Estates
  • Advising on Court of Protection matters
  • Drafting Wills, LPAs, and related legal documentation
  • Preparing and submitting applications to the Probate Registry
  • Advising on matters relating to the Mental Capacity Act
  • Working with testamentary trusts and related matters
  • Attending clients in nursing homes and private residences when required
  • Supervising and supporting team members to ensure a high standard of work
  • Maintaining accurate and complete files and meeting all deadlines
  • Contributing to your own professional development and the wider development of the team

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A qualified Solicitor or CILEX professional with 3+ years’ PQE
  • Experienced in Wills, LPAs, and Probate
  • Knowledgeable in the Mental Capacity Act
  • Ideally STEP qualified or working towards STEP qualification
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident working independently and managing a caseload
  • Experienced in supervising or supporting a team
  • A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • IT literate with strong word-processing skills
  • Professional, reliable, and approachable
  • Ambitious and keen to develop their career and client following
  • Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Flexible, proactive, and eager to develop new skills
  • In possession of a full UK driving licence and access to a car for business use, as occasional travel to other locations and client appointments may be necessary
