Kent
Permanent, Full-time
Sellick Partnership is working with a growing and award-winning financial planning business to recruit a Private Client Solicitor to join its developing Estate Planning team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a 2+ PQE Private Client Solicitor looking to step into a genuinely client-facing role, working with high-net-worth individuals, business owners and entrepreneurs on their wills, trusts, LPAs and wider estate planning.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of your own Estate Planning caseload, meeting clients face-to-face, taking detailed instructions and providing tailored advice around their personal and family circumstances.
You’ll work closely with experienced Financial Advisors, ensuring clients receive joined-up advice across their financial and estate planning needs.
You’ll predominantly work with high-net-worth individuals, business owners and high earners, meaning you’ll gain exposure to more complex estates, family structures, business interests and inheritance tax planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise HNW individuals, business owners and families on estate planning.
- Draft straightforward and complex wills.
- Advise on trusts, LPAs and wider estate planning structures.
- Identify inheritance tax planning opportunities.

- Build strong, long-term relationships with clients.
- Handle complex and taxable estates, with exposure to business and family wealth.
- Advise on probate and estate administration where required.
- Develop your technical knowledge through training and further qualifications.
- Play a key role in the continued growth of the Estate Planning service.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
