Private Client Solicitor Ipswich

We are looking for an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join an established legal team based in Ipswich.

This is an excellent opportunity for a private client lawyer looking to manage a varied caseload within a supportive and professional environment. The role offers the opportunity to build strong client relationships while providing practical, high-quality legal advice across a broad range of private client matters.

The Role

As a Private Client Solicitor, you will advise individuals and families on a range of matters relating to their personal, financial and estate planning requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a varied private client caseload
  • Advising clients on wills and estate planning
  • Drafting and reviewing wills and related documentation
  • Advising on trusts and trust administration
  • Dealing with probate and estate administration matters
  • Advising executors and beneficiaries throughout the administration process
  • Handling applications for grants of probate and letters of administration
  • Dealing with estate assets, liabilities and distributions
  • Advising on inheritance tax and other relevant tax considerations
  • Supporting clients with lasting powers of attorney
  • Advising on Court of Protection matters where appropriate
  • Liaising with accountants, financial advisers and other professional contacts
  • Building and maintaining long-term client relationships
  • Preparing correspondence, legal documents and reports
  • Ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and within relevant deadlines
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant client files
  • Providing clear, sensitive and practical legal advice throughout

About You

We're looking for a confident and client-focused Private Client Solicitor with solid experience across a broad range of private client work.

You should have:

  • Qualified solicitor status in England & Wales
  • Previous experience within a private client department
  • Strong knowledge of wills, probate and estate administration
  • Experience advising on trusts and estate planning
  • Good understanding of inheritance tax and related issues
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
  • The ability to manage a varied caseload independently
  • A sensitive and professional approach to dealing with clients
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider legal team

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a technically strong private client solicitor who enjoys working directly with clients and building relationships over the long term.

You'll be comfortable handling matters with a high degree of autonomy while providing clear, practical advice on often complex and sensitive issues.

This role would suit someone who wants to develop their career within an established private client team, working on a varied caseload and providing a genuinely client-focused service.
