Private Client Solicitor – Chelmsford
We’re looking for a compassionate, confident and technically strong Private Client Solicitor to join our client’s successful team in Chelmsford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor who takes pride in delivering exceptional client care and enjoys building trusted, long-term relationships. You’ll work with a varied caseload and have the opportunity to make a genuine difference to clients, often supporting them through important and sometimes sensitive stages of their lives.
The Role
You’ll provide clear, practical and tailored legal advice across a broad range of Private Client matters, ensuring every client receives a professional, personal and supportive service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied caseload of Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters
- Building strong client relationships through professionalism, empathy and excellent communication
- Meeting clients both face-to-face and remotely
- Providing clear and sensitive advice tailored to individual circumstances
- Drafting Wills, legal documents and associated correspondence accurately
- Managing files effectively and maintaining high standards of compliance with SRA requirements
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an outstanding client experience
- Contributing to the continued development and growth of the Private Client offering
- Supporting business development through networking, referrals and nurturing client relationships
- Working towards agreed targets and KPIs while maintaining a strong focus on quality and client care

About You
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with genuine warmth and empathy.
You’ll ideally be:
- A qualified Solicitor with experience in Private Client work
- Confident managing your own caseload from instruction through to completion
- Experienced across Wills, Probate and LPAs, with Court of Protection experience desirable
- An excellent communicator who can explain complex legal matters clearly
- Calm, patient and compassionate, particularly when dealing with sensitive client circumstances
- Professional, approachable and confident in building trusted relationships
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Committed to delivering exceptional client service
- A collaborative team player with a positive and supportive approach

- Location: Chelmsford, Essex
- Hours: Monday – Friday, 9.00am – 5.30pm
