An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Probate Practitioner to join a successful and growing Private Client team based in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity for a probate specialist who enjoys delivering exceptional client service and managing a varied caseload from instruction through to completion. You will work alongside an experienced team within a supportive law firm environment, with the opportunity to develop your expertise and build strong client relationships.

The Role

As a Probate Practitioner, you will be responsible for managing your own caseload of probate and estate administration matters, providing clear, practical, and compassionate advice to clients throughout the process.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of probate and estate administration matters from initial instruction through to completion
  • Advising clients on the probate process and providing guidance throughout estate administration
  • Preparing and submitting applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration
  • Dealing with estate administration including collecting assets, settling liabilities, and distributing estates
  • Preparing estate accounts and liaising with beneficiaries and third parties
  • Handling client enquiries and providing regular updates throughout matters
  • Drafting legal documentation and correspondence
  • Liaising with financial institutions, HMRC, executors, beneficiaries, and other professionals
  • Ensuring files are maintained accurately and in line with compliance requirements
  • Delivering excellent standards of client care at all times

What We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced and client-focused Probate Practitioner who is confident managing their own workload and delivering high-quality legal services.

  • Previous experience handling probate and estate administration matters
  • Experience working within a Private Client department in a law firm environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of probate procedures
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • Ability to manage your own caseload effectively
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • A professional and empathetic approach when dealing with clients
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a busy legal team
