Private Client Solicitor / Head of Department | 5+ PQE | Devon | Competitive Salary DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join a well-established and growing team in Devon as Head of Department.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Private Client Solicitor looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role in the continued development and growth of the department.

You will manage a varied private client caseload, provide high-quality legal advice to clients and work closely with colleagues across the firm. You will also have the opportunity to shape the future direction of the department, develop client relationships and contribute to business development.

The role is ideally based in Devon, with hybrid and flexible working available.

The Role:

Applications are welcomed from Private Client Solicitors with 5+ years' PQE or equivalent experience, with a strong background across a broad range of private client matters. You will ideally have experience in:

  • Wills and estate planning
  • Probate and estate administration
  • Trusts
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Inheritance Tax planning
  • Court of Protection matters
  • Tax and succession planning
  • Contentious private client matters

As Head of Department, you will also be involved in team leadership, supervision, business development and the continued growth of the Private Client offering.

About You:

You will be an experienced and commercially minded Private Client Solicitor with excellent technical knowledge and a strong commitment to client care.

You will:

  • Have strong leadership and team management skills
  • Enjoy developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Have a proven ability to manage a varied caseload
  • Be confident in business development and networking
  • Be commercially aware and committed to growing the department
  • Enjoy mentoring and supporting more junior members of the team
  • Have a genuine interest in contributing to the wider success of the firm
