About the Firm
My client is a Legal 500-ranked, full-service law firm with a well-established presence in Bristol and the South West. The Private Client team advises individuals, families and trustees on a broad range of wealth, succession and estate matters, and is recognised in the independent legal directories for the quality of its advice.
The Role
We are seeking a Private Client Solicitor to join our Bristol team, working on a varied caseload spanning wills, trusts, estate administration and succession planning. This is an opportunity to build a broad private client practice within a well-regarded, Legal 500-ranked team, with genuine early client contact and responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on wills, trusts, powers of attorney and estate administration
- Supporting tax and succession planning for individuals and families
- Handling probate matters, including more complex or contested estates where relevant
- Advising on the creation and ongoing administration of lifetime and testamentary trusts
- Advising high-net-worth clients on inheritance tax, capital gains tax and wider wealth planning strategies
- Assisting clients with Court of Protection matters, including deputyship applications and management of affairs for vulnerable individuals
- Advising on cross-border estates and succession issues involving international assets or beneficiaries
- Liaising with accountants, financial advisers and other professionals to deliver joined-up advice to clients and their families
- Supporting business owners with succession planning, including the interaction between personal and business assets

Candidate Profile
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales), 2-6 years' PQE in private client law
- Strong technical drafting and analytical skills, with sound knowledge of trusts and tax planning
- Excellent client-facing manner and ability to manage a varied, fee-earning caseload with minimal supervision
- Commercially aware, with an interest in business development and building client relationships
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collegiate environment
