Role Description

The Private Client solicitor will manage a varied caseload, including wills, trusts, probate, estate administration, powers of attorney, and Court of Protection matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The role also involves:

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues
  • Maintaining accurate file management and compliance with regulatory and Lexcel standards
  • Contributing to business development activities such as networking and client relationship management

This is a full-time position based in our Ashby office, with a blend of office-based work and some work from home, depending on business needs.

Qualifications

  • Qualified solicitor (or equivalent legal professional) with experience in private client work, including wills, probate, estates, and powers of attorney.
  • Strong technical knowledge of relevant UK legislation, tax considerations for estates, and best practice in private client services.
  • Excellent client care and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, empathetic, and practical advice to a diverse range of clients.
  • Proven ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards of file management and regulatory compliance.
  • Confident in using legal case management systems and standard IT tools; comfortable working in a collaboration across multiple offices.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, ethical practice, and contributing positively to the firm’s culture and reputation.
