The Role & The Work
This opportunity offers the chance to step into a forward-thinking Private Client team in Aberdeen that is not only well-established, but continuing to grow and evolve with the changing needs of its clients. With a strong reputation across the North East, the team is known for combining technical excellence with a genuinely personal approach.
- You’ll work closely with experienced Private Client practitioners, many of whom are recognised specialists in the region, gaining exposure to a broad and high-quality caseload.
- Your work will span the full Private Client spectrum, from drafting Wills and Powers of Attorney to advising on trusts, executries, and succession planning, often involving complex family and financial dynamics.
- As your experience develops, so too will your level of responsibility. You’ll begin to take ownership of your own matters, build lasting relationships with clients, and play a more visible role in shaping outcomes that have real, long-term impact.
- Collaboration sits at the heart of the team’s approach. You’ll be supported by colleagues who are invested in your progression, with the opportunity to deepen your technical expertise, pursue further qualifications such as STEP, and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.
- This is an opportunity to build a long-term career within a team that values trust, development, and doing high-quality work the right way.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
