Private Client Solicitor (Partner) - Bourne or Market Deeping, Lincolnshire
We have an exciting opportunity for a confident, proactive and well-organised individual to join our team at Partner level. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience across a broad range of Private Client matters, including the preparation of wills, from straightforward matters to complex estate planning involving trusts, inheritance tax and capital gains tax planning, and the preparation and registration of Powers of Attorney, including EPAs and LPAs.
The role will also involve the administration of both taxable and non-taxable estates and will require strong attention to detail, excellent client care skills, and the ability to manage a varied caseload effectively while delivering a high standard of service to clients.
We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded individual who is enthusiastic about driving the growth and success of the Private Client practice at branch level. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy, while also providing leadership, support, and mentoring to a small team. They will contribute to the firm's strategic objectives and play an active role in business development by nurturing client relationships, building professional networks, and identifying opportunities for growth. An established following would be welcomed but is not essential; we are primarily seeking someone with the ambition, experience, and commitment to help expand and strengthen the practice.
Location: Bourne or Market Deeping, with flexible working between the two offices.
Department: Private Client Department
Hours: 9am – 5.15pm Monday to Friday
Salary: Depending on Experience
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a high-quality, ongoing service to existing Private Client clients, advising on Wills, probate, trusts, estate administration, tax planning, LPAs/EPAs and Court of Protection matters.
- Perform fee-earning work accurately, reliably and in accordance with the firm’s quality, risk and compliance procedures, producing fee income in line with agreed targets and objectives.
- Work collaboratively with Partners and fee earners to develop new business, build client and referrer relationships, and support the firm’s business development activities.
- Provide leadership and direction within the Private Client department, contributing to its ongoing growth and success through effective team management, service development, strategic planning, and the mentoring and development of colleagues.
- Supervision, mentoring and development of junior team members, assisting with workflow management and maintaining high professional standards.
- Maintain effective financial control, including billing, cash-flow management and the collection of monies on account.
- Keep fully informed of changes in law and practice, maintaining and enhancing up-to-date legal and technical skills.

Candidate Profile
Essential Experience
- Qualified Solicitor/Legal Executive
- Experienced in all mainstream private client matters to include, Wills, Powers of Attorney and mental capacity issues, Tax Planning, Estate Administration and identifying the benefit and use of Trusts.
- Experience of leading a small team, working autonomously within a branch office, and actively supporting business development and client relationship growth.
- High level of competency in using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle with appropriate business insurance, and a willingness to travel to other office locations as required.
Desirable Experience
- STEP Qualified or desire to qualify.
- Experience of advising agricultural and business clients.
- Competent in using case management systems.
- Clear understanding of confidentially/Data Protection.
