About The Role
Private Client Solicitor (Partner) is sought by a national firm to spearhead its Birmingham practice. This full-time position offers £150,000 to £225,000 per annum, dependent on experience, and requires at least six years of post-qualification experience. The selected lawyer will define the department's strategic vision, cultivate new business streams, and nurture a skilled team. They will leverage the firm's established infrastructure and client network to build a substantial presence in Birmingham. Candidates should possess strong technical expertise in wills, probate, and tax planning, alongside commercial acumen and leadership capability. This partner-level role provides autonomy to shape the practice’s future while benefiting from substantial organisational backing.

- You will be responsible for setting the vision and direction for the Birmingham Private Client practice.
- Building on existing success and identifying new opportunities for growth.
- Developing a high-performing team and creating an environment where talented lawyers can thrive.
- Growing relationships with HNW and UHNW individuals, families, entrepreneurs, business owners, and landed estates.
- Advising on sophisticated private client matters, including wills, trusts, estate and succession planning, probate, and LPAs.
- Increasing the team’s profile across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands through networking, relationship development, and thought leadership.
Skills Required
- Applications are sought from Private Client Solicitors with a minimum of 6 Years PQE.
- A strong track record of advising HNW and UHNW individuals and families.
- Experience of leading, mentoring, or managing lawyers and developing a successful team.
- Strong technical expertise across core Private Client work, with the commercial awareness to understand the wider needs of your clients.
- A proven ability to develop relationships, generate work, and grow a client portfolio.
- The confidence and credibility to represent the firm in the Birmingham and wider Midlands market.
- A collaborative leadership style and the ability to inspire and develop others.
- Ambition to build a leading regional Private Client offering as part of a nationally recognised practice.
- STEP qualification.
