The Role
Manage a varied caseload of private client matters
- Provide clear, practical and professional legal advice to clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, professional contacts and third-party referrers.
- Progress matters efficiently and accurately, keeping clients regularly updated on progress, timescales and costs.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive case files and records using the firm's case management systems.
- Ensure all client information and documentation is handled with a high level of confidentiality and security.
- Manage billing, time recording, aged debt and other relevant performance targets.
- Take responsibility for credit control on your own matters, working alongside the Accounts/Credit Control team where required.
- Work in accordance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules, Code of Conduct and all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to develop client relationships, generate referrals and contribute to business development activities.
- Maintain up-to-date legal knowledge and undertake appropriate training and professional development.
- Provide support and guidance to junior team members or legal assistants where required.
- Attend departmental and team meetings and contribute positively to discussions and the wider development of the department.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a professional, supportive and client-focused environment.

Skills & Experience
- Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or experienced Private Client Fee Earner.
- Experience managing a private client caseload with minimal supervision.
- Strong experience across wills, probate and estate administration, with additional experience in trusts, inheritance tax, powers of attorney and/or Court of Protection work desirable.
- Excellent client care and relationship-building skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Commercial awareness, including an understanding of billing, time recording and credit control.
- Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
- A professional, approachable and team-focused attitude.
