Role Purpose
AAB delivers tax advisory services to a wide portfolio of clients including UHNW/HNW Individuals, Business and Farm Owners, Non-resident Individuals, Globally Mobile Executives, Partnerships, Trusts and Estates.

Ultimately reporting to the Head of Tax Advisory, you will report to your line manager and be working alongside a team of experienced tax advisory specialists across all AAB offices as well as liaising with other Business Units to help deliver this service.
As an Assistant Manager, you will be expected to lead by example in the performance of your own duties to encourage other team members coming through the business to do the same.
Key duties & responsibilities
- Supporting the delivery of advisory services to a portfolio of private clients, acting as a key point of contact for clients where appropriate.
- Assisting with the preparation of a wide range of tax advisory work including but not limited to inheritance tax planning, succession planning, capital gains tax planning, trust structuring, residence/international tax advice, and transaction related tax advice.
- Responsibility for following AAB Tax Advisory processes, as well as other internal processes required in the performance of your duties. This includes the use of technology to improve efficiency within the business, maintaining accurate client data, and the accurate and real time completion of timesheets and all workflow / job management tools.
- Financial Management responsibilities including monitoring WIP on advisory assignments, assisting with proposals for new work, raising fees and assisting with proposals for fee uplifts for additional work where required.
- Working closely with senior members of the team to identify and develop potential advisory opportunities within existing client relationships and ensuring a joined-up approach to client service delivery.

- Participating in client meetings and supporting senior members of the team in presenting technical advice clearly and commercially to clients.
- Supporting and training junior members of team to aid their development and career progression opportunities.
- Undertaking Business Development both internally and externally, including attending local and office-based networking events with a view to increasing external awareness of AAB and the tax advisory function within the local area, as well as starting to build your own network of external peer contacts.
- Spot opportunities for other business units and facilitate introduction of client to other AAB services, with support from the management team where necessary.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
- Relevant professional tax qualification (e.g. CA, ATT, CTA, STEP or similar) or qualified by experience.
- Post qualification experience in a tax advisory role or qualified by experience.
- Ability to undertake independent technical research.
- Good knowledge in the use of Excel and Word.
Desirable:
- Experience using Tolleys research tools and related applications.
- Good knowledge in the use of Powerpoint.
