Private Client Tax Manager (Fixed-Term Contract – 3 Months)

London / Hybrid Working

3-Month Contract with Potential to Become Permanent

The Opportunity

My client - a well-established independent professional services firm is looking to hire an experienced Private Client Tax Manager to join the team on an initial 3-month contract to provide cover during a period of leave.

This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with strong private client experience to step into a varied and client-focused role. While the immediate requirement is for temporary cover, there is potential for the position to become permanent depending on business needs and performance.

Working closely with Partners and Directors, you will manage a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, family offices, and trusts, providing both compliance oversight and tax advisory support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of private clients, ensuring high levels of service and technical accuracy.
  • Review and oversee personal tax returns, trust returns, and capital gains tax reporting.
  • Provide advice on a range of private client tax matters, including:
    • Income Tax
    • Capital Gains Tax
    • Inheritance Tax
    • Trust taxation
    • Residence and domicile matters
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients and professional advisers.
  • Support Partners with advisory projects and complex client matters.
  • Review technical work prepared by junior team members and provide guidance where required.
  • Manage client deadlines and ensure compliance obligations are met.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and contribute to advisory assignments.
  • Assist with handovers and knowledge transfer to ensure continuity of client service during the cover period.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
