An exciting opportunity to join our growing Private Client team
Advising a diverse portfolio of high net worth individuals, families, entrepreneurs, business owners, and trustees. You will work closely with clients on a broad range of private client matters, including income tax, capital gains tax, international aspects, inheritance tax, and estate planning, providing both compliance and advisory services.
As part of Gerald Edelman’s friendly, supportive, and high calibre tax team, you will build strong client relationships, deliver practical and commercially focused advice, and help identify planning opportunities. The role requires strong UK private client tax technical knowledge, excellent communication and project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines while delivering a high standard of client service.

What will the role entail?
Responsibilities
- High degree of autonomy reporting to the Tax partners.
- Client management and communication on a regular basis.
- Team management, review work, coach, and support staff, management workflows while ensuring high quality output.
- Prepare and/or review UK Self-Assessment tax returns including reporting of worldwide income, foreign tax credits, complex disclosures, and interpreting double tax agreements.
- Support clients with HMRC enquiries, settlements, and disclosures (e.g., Worldwide Disclosure Facility).
- Provide tailored advice on global mobility including pre-and post-arrival UK tax planning.
- Advise on the changes to UK tax legislation that are relevant including the pre-6 April 2025 remittance basis regime, and the new post 5-April 2025 rules, i.e., the four-year FIG regime, TRF, and long-term residence for IHT, changes to BPR/APR.
- Offshore trust experience would be advantageous.
- Ability to advise on property tax structuring.
- De-enveloping advice in respect of UK properties to include property structuring advice for trading or investment purposes.
- Estate planning – Trust and estate planning advice, liaising internally with our Wealth Management team.
- Get involved in producing marketing material such as articles.

Requirements
- Qualifications: ATT, CTA, or ACA, or equivalent (at least ATT qualified or part-qualified CTA/ACA – if at senior associate level or fully qualified if at assistant manager and upwards level with strong relevant experience).
- At least three-four years in personal tax, ideally in a private client-focused firm/team.
- An organised and meticulous approach to compliance and reporting work and ability to work on multiple clients simultaneously.
- A confident communicator and ability to explain complex matters, who builds trust easily and enjoys developing long-term client relationships.
