A leading accountancy and advisory firm is seeking a Private Client Tax Manager to join its established tax team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of individuals, business owners, and high-net-worth clients, delivering both compliance and advisory services within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Your new role

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of private clients while supporting the delivery of high-quality tax advice and ensuring compliance obligations are met.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of private clients and acting as a key point of contact.
  • Delivering a mixture of personal tax compliance and advisory work.
  • Identifying tax planning opportunities and wider tax risks for clients.
  • Building and maintaining strong long-term client relationships.
  • Managing workflow and ensuring all HMRC deadlines are met.
  • Reviewing the work of junior team members and providing guidance and support.
  • Working closely with colleagues across the wider tax team on complex client matters.
  • Monitoring portfolio performance, productivity, and profitability.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will be CTA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualified with previous experience working within private client or personal tax.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Experience managing a portfolio of private client tax matters.
  • Strong technical personal tax knowledge.
  • Exposure to both compliance and advisory work.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to research and interpret complex areas of tax legislation.
  • Experience reviewing work and supporting junior colleagues.
  • A commercial and client-focused approach.
