A leading and rapidly growing professional services firm is seeking an experienced Private Client Trust Tax Manager or Senior Manager to join its established tax team. The firm provides specialist advice to a broad range of private clients, trusts, estates, family businesses and high-net-worth individuals, offering an excellent platform for career progression within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Your new role

You will be responsible for managing a varied portfolio of private clients, trusts and estates, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring the delivery of high-quality compliance and advisory services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a portfolio of private clients, trusts and estates
  • Overseeing the completion of Self Assessment tax returns, MTD reporting and Final Declarations
  • Acting as the main client contact and developing strong, long-term relationships
  • Managing portfolio profitability, including WIP control, billing and fee planning
  • Identifying opportunities for additional services and supporting business development activity
  • Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and providing technical guidance
  • Preparing and reviewing advisory work including: Trust registrations and compliance, Trust and estate tax matters, Inheritance Tax returns, Capital Gains Tax calculations and reporting, Remuneration planning
  • Working closely with specialists across tax and wider service lines to deliver integrated client solutions
  • Supporting, mentoring and developing junior members of the team
  • Driving process improvement and the adoption of new technologies within the tax function

What you'll need to succeed

  • A professional tax qualification such as CTA, ATT, STEP, CA or equivalent experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of trust and estate tax compliance
  • Experience dealing with Trust Registration Service (TRS) requirements, trust administration and Inheritance Tax returns
  • A proven track record of managing a client portfolio and building strong client relationships
  • Excellent communication, organisational and technical research skills
  • Previous experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members
