AJ Chambers is proud to be working with an established firm in London to place a Private Client Tax Senior with their next opportunity.
The role will involve managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, with support from Managers and senior team members where required. This will include responsibility for tax compliance and client service matters, including the preparation of tax returns and computations, payment advice, and responding to ad-hoc client queries.
This is a varied position, offering the opportunity to become involved in both compliance and advisory work across a broad range of personal tax matters.
Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the management of personal tax compliance processes.
- Providing proactive tax advice to a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Supporting senior team members and Partners with tax planning and technical projects.
- Assisting with one-off advisory and tax planning assignments.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across different departments to ensure seamless client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, providing proactive and commercially focused solutions with support from senior colleagues and Partners.
- Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure work and projects are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure effective delivery of client work.
- Identify issues and assist with resolving client queries and problems.
- Work closely with Managers and Partners to meet client expectations and deadlines.
- Keep senior colleagues informed of client issues and concerns.
- Develop a strong understanding of clients' wider financial and personal affairs.
- Demonstrate initiative and develop practical solutions to client requirements.
- Assist with WIP, billing, and recoverability across the portfolio.
- Maintain and develop technical knowledge through appropriate training, reading, and professional development.

Your Experience
- Working towards ATT/CTA qualification, or possess substantial relevant personal tax experience.
- At least 3 years' experience working within Personal Tax / Private Client Tax.
- Experience managing a portfolio of personal tax clients.
- Strong technical knowledge across UK personal taxation.
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice or professional services environment.
