Private Client Tax Senior & Semi Senior
Location: Welwyn / Welwyn Garden City
Salary: £35,000-£60,000 depending on level and experience
We're currently working on two excellent opportunities within established accountancy practices in the Welwyn area, suitable for both Tax Semi Seniors and Tax Seniors looking to take the next step in their career.
Both opportunities offer the chance to work within established tax teams, gain exposure to a varied private client portfolio, and develop your experience across both compliance and advisory work.
Private Client Tax Senior
Salary: £50,000-£60,000
This opportunity would suit an experienced Tax Senior who is confident managing their own portfolio and is looking to develop their technical and advisory experience further. You'll work with a varied range of private clients, including HNW individuals, business owners, and more complex personal tax affairs.
Key responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of personal and private client tax work
- Preparing and reviewing Self Assessment tax returns
- Advising HNW individuals and business owners
- Dealing with CGT, IHT, and other areas of personal taxation
- Supporting with trusts and more complex tax matters
- Identifying tax planning and advisory opportunities
- Building strong relationships with clients
- Liaising directly with clients and handling technical queries
- Working closely with Managers and Partners
- Supporting and reviewing the work of more junior team members

About you
- Previous UK practice experience
- Strong personal/private client tax background
- Experience managing your own portfolio
- Good technical knowledge across personal taxation
- Experience with CGT, IHT, and/or trusts would be advantageous
- ATT/CTA qualified or working towards qualification would be beneficial
- Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills
- Keen to continue developing within Private Client Tax
Tax Semi Senior
Salary: £35,000-£40,000
The Semi Senior opportunity is ideal for someone who has already gained experience within personal tax and is looking to progress towards Senior level. You'll join an established team and gain exposure to a broad client base, including individuals, company directors, self-employed clients, and HNW individuals.
Key responsibilities
- Preparing personal tax returns
- Assisting with a varied private client portfolio
- Supporting on more complex personal tax matters
- Dealing with client queries
- Assisting with CGT and other areas of personal taxation
- Supporting Managers and Seniors with advisory work
- Building your confidence dealing directly with clients
- Working collaboratively across the wider tax team
- Developing your technical knowledge and taking on increasing responsibility

About you
- Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice
- Experience in personal or private client tax
- Good understanding of Self Assessment
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and organisational skills
- ATT qualified or studying towards ATT would be advantageous
- Motivated to progress towards Tax Senior
