Private Client Trust & Estates Senior

Location: Liverpool (Hybrid/Flexible Working Available)

Salary: £30,000–£50,000 DOE

Hours: Full-time

About the Opportunity

An established and highly regarded accountancy practice is looking to recruit a Private Client Trust & Estates Senior to join its growing specialist team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in private client, trust or estate work who is looking to further develop their career within a supportive, collaborative environment. You'll work with a varied portfolio of trusts, estates and private clients, gaining exposure to interesting and technically rewarding work while being supported in your ongoing professional development.

Whether you're already specialising in trusts and estates or have a solid private client background and are looking to specialise, we'd be keen to hear from you.

The Role

You'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of trust and estate compliance matters while working closely with colleagues to deliver an excellent service to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of trust and estate compliance assignments.
  • Prepare trust and estate tax returns, ensuring statutory deadlines are met.
  • Prepare trust and estate accounts.
  • Assist with Trust Registration Service (TRS) registrations and ongoing administration.
  • Liaise with clients, professional advisers and HMRC.
  • Support inheritance tax (IHT) compliance work, including preparation of IHT returns.
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with current legislation.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

Experience Required:

  • Trust and estate compliance.
  • Trust and estate taxation.
  • Trust accounting.
  • Trust Registration Service (TRS).
  • Private client work within an accountancy, legal or professional services environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy.

Beneficial Qualifications:

  • Experience preparing inheritance tax (IHT) returns.
  • Knowledge of CCH software.
  • ATT and/or STEP qualifications (or be working towards them).

Don't worry if you don't meet every requirement. Training and support will be provided, particularly in inheritance tax work, for the right candidate with a solid private client foundation.
