Private Client Tax Manager
Location: St Albans

The opportunity
A respected accountancy practice in St Albans is looking for a Private Client Tax Manager to join its growing team. You will advise high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, business owners and trustees on a range of tax matters, including compliance, planning and succession. The role offers strong client contact, varied advisory work and clear progression opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of private clients, trusts and estates.
- Review personal, trust and estate tax returns.
- Advise on IHT, CGT, succession and estate planning.
- Support executors, trustees and professional advisers.
- Deal with HMRC enquiries, clearances and correspondence.
- Attend client meetings and provide practical advice.
- Manage deadlines, budgets and billing.
- Review work and support junior team members.
- Contribute to business development and team growth.
- Keep up to date with tax legislation and HMRC guidance.

You may work with:
- HNW individuals and families.
- Entrepreneurs and business owners.
- Trustees and executors.
- Family investment companies and family offices.
- UK and internationally connected clients.
- Clients with property, investment and business interests.
What we are looking for
Ideally, you will be ATT or CTA qualified, or have equivalent experience. You should have:
- Strong private client tax experience.
- Good knowledge of personal tax, trusts, estates, IHT and CGT.
- Experience managing your own client portfolio.
- Strong communication and client management skills.
- Experience reviewing tax returns and computations.
- Good organisation and time-management skills.
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues.
- A practical and commercial approach.
- Experience with international clients, trusts, estate administration, family investment companies or tax investigations would be useful.
