Full-time

Tranent, East Lothian

Competitive salary, commensurate with experience

Due to continued growth and increasing demand within our Tranent office, we are seeking a Private Client Solicitor to join our team. While a specialist private client solicitor would be ideal, we would also welcome applications from solicitors with experience across private client and residential conveyancing matters.

The successful candidate will manage their own caseload while providing a high quality, practical and client focused service. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing firm with strong client relationships and a significant volume of existing work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of private client matters including:
    • Wills
    • Powers of Attorney
    • Executry administration
    • Trust administration
    • Estate planning
  • Handle residential conveyancing transactions where appropriate, including:
    • Sales and purchases
    • Transfers of title
    • Remortgages
  • Provide clear, practical legal advice tailored to clients’ individual circumstances.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Liaise with colleagues across the firm to ensure the delivery of an efficient and seamless service.
  • Maintain accurate file management and case records.
  • Ensure compliance with Law Society of Scotland regulations, AML procedures and firm policies.
  • Support business development initiatives and help strengthen the firm’s presence within the local community.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
