As a Private Cloud Infrastructure Delivery Engineer, you will play a key role within the practice, delivering and supporting infrastructure and cloud solutions across a range of customer environments. Working closely with colleagues across the Office of the CTO, Pre-Sales and Solution Architecture, Customer Success, Account Management, Cloud & AI, Network and Security, Managed Services, and Go-to-Market teams, you will help ensure the successful transition of solutions from design through implementation and into support, enabling customers to maximise the value of their technology investments.
This role combines technical delivery, operational support, customer engagement, and continuous improvement, ensuring Node4 continues to provide secure, innovative, and high-performing private cloud solutions that meet evolving customer and business needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and support Private Cloud infrastructure solutions across the Node4 VDC platform, ACI Cloud platform, customer private cloud environments, and on-premises infrastructure solutions.
- Provision, configure, implement, and maintain customer infrastructure and cloud services, ensuring solutions are delivered in line with agreed designs, standards, and customer requirements.
- Participate in infrastructure migrations, upgrades, and transformation projects, supporting planning, implementation, testing, and successful service transition activities.
- Act as a technical point of contact for assigned customer engagements, providing expertise and clear communication throughout delivery and operational activities.
- Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation, including implementation plans, operational procedures, solution designs, and customer handover documentation.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, platform updates, patching, and lifecycle management activities to maintain the security, stability, and performance of customer environments.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for cloud and infrastructure services, resolving complex incidents, service requests, and technical challenges.
- Proactively monitor platform performance, capacity, availability, and security, identifying risks and driving improvements to service resilience and customer experience.
- Support Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request processes, ensuring activities are managed in accordance with Node4 governance, ITIL practices, and customer SLAs.
- Collaborate with Architecture, Managed Services, Security, Customer Success, and Project Delivery teams to ensure seamless delivery and ongoing support of customer solutions.
- Contribute to continual service improvement initiatives, automation opportunities, technical standards, and best practices across the Private Cloud Practice.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
