Private Cloud Infrastructure Specialist (Storage)
Salary: £72,702 - £80,780
Location(s): Leeds or Manchester
Hours: Full-time - 35 hours per week
Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Leeds or Manchester office sites. It remains easy, modern, and environmentally friendly for developers. A Senior Storage Engineer is sought to join the Private Cloud Platform. This outstanding opportunity involves joining an ambitious team advancing the tech modernisation agenda and supporting the goal to become the largest Fintech in the UK. Hands-on work with storage technologies and specialist team expertise are key components.
What you'll be doing
- Liaise and collaborate with different levels of colleagues up to exec level to deliver an outstanding cloud platform.
- Contribute to or lead on the analysis, build, and delivery of best-in-breed infrastructure systems.
- Be proficient in using an agile workflow and agile tooling such as JIRA.
- Work closely with Product Owners & Engineering colleagues to gather and interpret the needs of internal client customers as well as feed into product roadmaps and vision.
- Understand and follow secure-by-design principles, contributing to discussions on security, automation, and engineering approach.
- Understand risk processes and can identify, articulate, and provide steps to mitigate.
- Operate as a self-starter, able to manage workload, and identify and plan next tasks.

What we're looking for?
- Proven experience as a Storage Engineer with expertise in cloud environments.
- Expert knowledge of Storage/SAN technologies and services (Hitachi, Dell, IBM NetApp storage, Brocade, and Cisco switches).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and experience providing support with storage technologies and tools.
- Strong experience in writing technical build documents.
And any experience of these would be great:
- Solid knowledge of SAN, NAS, VSAN, iSCSI, and S3 technologies.
- Solid knowledge of Operating systems (Windows & Linux).
- Solid knowledge of Networks / Firewall.
- Solid knowledge of Backup Technologies.
- Solid knowledge of Block, File, and Object storage, ideally Dell Power series, NetApp NAS and/or Dell ECS.
- Experience in Service Build & associated methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience with large scale data migrations.
