Private Credit & Leveraged Finance Associate
Location: London
PQE: 4+
Salary: £110,000–£135,000 + bonus (DOE)

A leading international law firm is looking to appoint a 4+ PQE Private Credit & Leveraged Finance Associate to join its highly regarded Banking & Finance practice in London.
The successful candidate will join a specialist team led by a highly regarded practitioner in the private credit and leveraged finance market, advising private credit funds, direct lenders, financial institutions, private equity sponsors and corporate borrowers on sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance lawyer looking to develop their career within a leading international platform, with significant exposure to private capital, direct lending and sponsor-backed transactions.
The Role
You will work closely with experienced Partners and senior lawyers on a broad range of private credit and leveraged finance matters, including:
- Private credit and direct lending transactions.
- Leveraged acquisition and sponsor-backed financings.
- Unitranche, senior and subordinated debt structures.
- Acquisition finance and refinancing transactions.
- Amendments, restructurings and liability management.
- Intercreditor and security arrangements.
- Cross-border financing transactions.
- Portfolio and follow-on financing work.
- Drafting and negotiating facility agreements and associated finance documentation.
- Advising clients throughout the transaction lifecycle.

The role will provide significant exposure to leading private credit funds, alternative lenders and financial institutions, alongside work with sponsors and borrowers.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a UK-qualified solicitor with 4+ years' PQE and strong experience in leveraged finance, private credit or acquisition finance.
You should have:
- Strong experience in private credit and/or leveraged finance.
- Experience acting for private credit funds, direct lenders, banks and/or private equity sponsors.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing sophisticated financing transactions.
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- The ability to take ownership of matters and work closely with clients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within the private credit market.
