Are you a Senior Private Crime Solicitor looking to join a growing firm offering a £65,000 basic salary, a performance bonus, a clear path to senior leadership, offices in Mayfair or Brighton and more?

This is an excellent opportunity to grow a privately funded criminal defence practice with a genuine, clearly defined route to Legal Director.

About the Firm

A growing and ambitious firm of Solicitors, with offices in Mayfair and Brighton. The role offers a genuine and clearly defined path into the firm's senior leadership team, with the express intention of progressing from Senior Associate to Legal Director within two years, subject to satisfactory performance and the successful development of the candidate's practice.

Senior Private Crime Solicitor — Position Overview

  • Manage complex criminal matters independently, alongside everyday magistrates' court work
  • Contribute to and grow the firm's privately funded criminal defence practice
  • Based at either the Mayfair or Brighton office
  • Join as a Senior Associate (negotiable) with a defined path to Legal Director within two years
  • Genuine opportunity to move into the firm's senior leadership team

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Private Crime Solicitor

  • Managing complex criminal matters independently from instruction through to resolution
  • Handling everyday matters in the magistrates' courts
  • Generating and developing privately funded criminal defence work
  • Growing the firm's privately funded criminal defence practice
  • Building and maintaining a strong client following
  • Demonstrating the leadership, commercial contribution and professional standards expected at Legal Director level

Requirements of the Senior Private Crime Solicitor

  • Qualified Solicitor with at least 10 years' PQE in criminal defence
  • A demonstrable following and the ability to generate privately funded work
  • Proven ability to manage complex criminal matters independently
  • Experience of everyday magistrates' court work
  • Ambition to progress and grow, with genuine leadership potential
  • Strong commercial awareness and business development ability
