Private Equity Associate - 1+ PQE - Elite US Firm (London)

An elite US law firm is seeking an associate to join its Private Equity team in London.

The Practice

The team advises private equity sponsors, portfolio companies and financial investors on complex domestic and cross-border transactions. Its work spans the full investment lifecycle, including acquisitions, disposals, leveraged buyouts, management equity arrangements, bolt-on transactions, restructurings and exits.

The successful candidate will work closely with partners and senior lawyers on high-value matters for leading private equity clients. The role will include:

  • Advising on UK and international private equity transactions
  • Drafting and negotiating acquisition, investment and shareholder documentation
  • Managing due diligence and coordinating transaction processes
  • Working alongside finance, tax, antitrust and regulatory specialists
  • Developing direct relationships with clients and overseas counsel
  • Supporting junior lawyers as experience develops

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should:

  • Be qualified in England and Wales, with at least one year of post-qualification experience
  • Have relevant private equity or corporate M&A experience
  • Demonstrate strong drafting, analytical and transaction-management skills
  • Be comfortable working on complex matters within fast-paced deal environments
  • Have a collaborative approach and the confidence to take responsibility for key workstreams
  • Show a clear interest in developing a long-term career within private equity
