Job Description
I am currently representing the London office of an elite US law firm in the strategic expansion of its pre-eminent Private Equity practice. The team is interested in speaking with high-quality Australian-qualified PE lawyers at 3–7 PQE.
This is a particularly compelling opportunity for Australian-qualified lawyers looking to make the move to London and join a practice operating at the very top end of the market.
The Opportunity
The practice is recognised for advising leading private equity sponsors and financial investors on some of the largest and most sophisticated transactions in the market. The team is consistently involved in headline, high-value deals across the full spectrum of private equity, including acquisitions, disposals, leveraged buyouts, take-privates, carve-outs, joint ventures and complex cross-border transactions.
The opportunity would suit lawyers who have developed their experience on high-value PE transactions and are looking to work alongside market-leading practitioners on genuinely complex, international matters.

Practice & Clients
The team advises an elite roster of private equity sponsors, institutional investors and major financial institutions, with a particular focus on:
- Large-cap and upper-mid-market private equity transactions
- Sponsor-led acquisitions and disposals
- Leveraged buyouts and take-privates
- Cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions
- Complex carve-outs and corporate restructurings
- Management equity and incentive arrangements
- Joint ventures and strategic investments
The London team works closely with the firm's international network, providing exposure to some of the most significant transactions across the US, UK, Europe and wider global markets.
Candidate Profile
I am particularly interested in speaking with Australian-qualified PE lawyers between 3–7 PQE who have:
- Strong private equity / M&A experience from a leading Australian or international law firm
- Experience working on high-value and sophisticated transactions
- Exposure to sponsor-side acquisitions, disposals, LBOs or related PE matters
- Excellent academics and strong technical credentials
- The ambition to build a career within a leading London PE practice
- The ability to operate effectively on complex, cross-border transactions
