Private Equity Associate

Location: London, United Kingdom

Our client is a leading middle-market private equity fund with a strong track record of investing across a broad range of sectors throughout the UK and Europe. The team is seeking an Associate to support the evaluation, execution, and management of investments across a diversified portfolio.

This is a generalist investment role offering exposure to the full deal lifecycle, working closely with senior investment professionals and portfolio company management teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new investment opportunities across a range of sectors and business models
  • Build and review detailed financial models, valuation analyses, and investment materials
  • Conduct commercial, financial, and operational due diligence alongside external advisors
  • Participate in transaction execution, including structuring, negotiations, financing processes, and documentation
  • Prepare investment committee presentations and supporting materials
  • Monitor existing portfolio investments and assist with value creation initiatives
  • Support portfolio company management teams on strategic projects, acquisitions, refinancing initiatives, and operational improvements
  • Conduct market research and sector analysis to identify attractive investment themes
  • Assist with exit processes, including trade sales, sponsor-to-sponsor transactions, and public market exits

Candidate Profile

  • 2–5 years of experience within Investment Banking (M&A, Leveraged Finance, or Industry Coverage), Private Equity, Transaction Services, or a related investment environment
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical capabilities
  • Experience working on live M&A and financing transactions
  • Excellent commercial judgement and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated interest in investing and private equity
