We are recruiting for a well known international advisory firm for a Manager to join their growing Alternatives Tax team who advise Private Equity, Hedge Fund and Credit Fund clients.

This is a mixed advisory and compliance role with a clear private equity focus. You will work directly with clients on fund related tax issues, oversee corporation tax and partnership tax processes and build long term relationships across the PE market.

Please note that this role can sponsor Visas should they be needed.

The Role

  • Advise private equity clients on UK and international tax matters, including corporation tax and partnership tax
  • Support clients with tax issues arising from fund structures, investments, transactions and ongoing operations
  • Own corporation tax and partnership tax processes from end to end, including reviewing work prepared by junior team members
  • Research legislation, case law and HMRC guidance to resolve technical tax issues
  • Manage your own portfolio of private equity clients and act as a trusted day to day tax contact
  • Lead client meetings and calls and liaise directly with HMRC
  • Manage, coach and develop junior team members
  • Work closely with colleagues across the UK Alternatives practice and international KPMG offices
  • Support business development and contribute to the continued growth of the private equity tax practice

  • ACA, CA, CTA, etc
  • Experience delivering corporate tax advisory and compliance work
  • Good UK corporation tax knowledge
  • Experience in private equity, alternative investment funds or a related area is advantageous but not essential
  • Ability to manage client relationships, lead teams and communicate technical tax issues clearly
  • High standard of written technical work and attention to detail
  • Ambition to develop a specialism in private equity tax and progress towards Senior Manager and beyond
