We are working with a leading international law firm looking to appoint an Associate into its growing Private Funds practice in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a private funds lawyer to join a highly regarded team advising asset managers, fund sponsors and investors on the establishment, structuring, operation and ongoing regulation of private investment funds.

The team handles sophisticated UK and international mandates and works closely with colleagues across tax, financial services regulatory, corporate and other specialist practice areas.

The Role

The successful candidate will work across a broad range of transactional private funds matters, including:

  • Establishing and structuring private investment funds.
  • Drafting and negotiating fund documentation.
  • Negotiating investor side letters and related investor documentation.
  • Supporting fundraisings and investor negotiations.
  • Advising on the ongoing operation and regulation of investment funds.
  • Working alongside tax, regulatory and corporate specialists on complex fund matters.
  • Developing relationships with clients and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.

The Candidate

We are looking for an Associate with approximately 1–3 years' PQE and strong private funds experience gained within an international, leading UK or highly regarded regional law firm.

Candidates should ideally have:

  • Experience in the establishment, structuring and operation of private investment funds.
  • Exposure to closed-ended private funds and associated fund documentation.
  • Strong academics and technical legal skills.
  • A commercial approach and genuine interest in the private funds and asset management market.
  • Excellent drafting, communication and client-management skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary and international practice.
