The Role
Ellea Nursing is seeking a Private Live-In Carer / Healthcare Assistant to deliver dedicated, round-the-clock support that enables clients to enjoy meaningful time at home.
Working on a rotational live-in basis, you will provide personal care, daily living support, companionship and wellbeing assistance, while collaborating closely with a registered nurse who oversees all clinical care. Please note: Specific duties are tailored to the individual client’s clinical requirements, lifestyle preferences, and home environment. A detailed, bespoke care plan is provided for every placement.
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care in the client’s home, promoting dignity, independence and an excellent quality of life.
- Provide all aspects of personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, toileting and continence, while ensuring safe mobility, transfers and positioning using appropriate equipment.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals aligned to the client’s dietary, cultural and personal preferences, and support light household tasks such as laundry, tidying, shopping and maintaining a comfortable home.
- Offer meaningful companionship, engaging clients in conversation, hobbies, activities, social interaction, and outings to support emotional wellbeing.
- Accompany clients for appointments, social events and care-assisted travel, both within the UK and abroad, always ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Monitor and report changes in the client’s physical or emotional condition, follow the personalised care plan accurately, and maintain clear daily records and handover notes.
- Build a strong, trusting rapport with clients and their families while upholding Ellea Nursing’s values and 5-star service standards.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
