Drivers are expected to keep their vehicles clean, presentable, and compliant with local licensing regulations, and to follow company policies for safety and customer care. The role also includes basic record-keeping, such as logging trips and mileage, and coordinating with the office or dispatch team to respond to pre-booked journeys and on-demand requests. This is a full-time role, and while driving is location-based, booking management and certain administrative tasks may be carried out remotely.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess relevant training skills, including completion of required local private hire licensing courses and a strong focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Candidates should possess sales-related skills, such as offering services professionally, supporting repeat business, and maintaining a friendly, customer-focused approach.
  • Candidates should possess automotive-related skills, including confident vehicle handling, basic vehicle maintenance awareness, and careful operation of cars and minibuses.
  • Valid UK driving license with a good driving record and eligibility for local private hire driver licensing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with a diverse range of passengers.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to varying schedules, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Familiarity with local geography and route-planning tools (GPS or navigation apps) is highly beneficial.
