Job Title: Private Household Manager – Live-In Estate Role (24/7)
Location: Private Estate (Live-Onsite essential) 2 hrs based from London but need to live in
Reporting To: Chief of Staff, Family Office
Salary: TBC circa £80k-£100k dependent on experience
We are seeking an exceptional hospitality-led head of household to oversee the full operational management of a prestigious private stately home and its wider residential operations.
This is a rare opportunity for a world-class five-star hotel professional to transition into an ultra-private environment, bringing the standards, discretion, and service culture of a leading luxury hospitality brand into one of the finest private homes.
The ideal candidate will come from a recognised luxury hospitality background known for impeccable service, understated elegance, intuitive guest experience, and operational excellence. They will understand how to run a private stately home with the polish and precision of a world-class hospitality environment, while ensuring it always feels like a discreet and seamlessly operated private residence — never a hotel.
This is a highly hands-on leadership role requiring complete ownership of the residence, its people, standards, presentation, and day-to-day operations. We are looking for someone polished but grounded — low ego, highly capable, discreet, and naturally service-driven.
The Role
As head of household, you will have full responsibility for the operational management and presentation of the stately home, ensuring it is maintained to exceptional standards and permanently guest-ready at all times.

Responsibilities include:
- Full operational oversight of the private residence and associated residential buildings
- Delivering an exceptional and highly personalised experience for principals and guests
- Maintaining impeccable presentation and five-star standards throughout the home and grounds
- Leading all residential operations including housekeeping, maintenance, service, and presentation
- Recruiting, training, and managing household staff to exceptional hospitality standards
- Managing contractors, suppliers, artisans, and specialist service providers
- Overseeing preventative maintenance, refurbishments, and residential enhancement projects
- Coordinating guest stays, entertaining, and private events with discretion and precision
- Managing procurement, inventories, budgets, and operational reporting
- Acting as a trusted liaison with the Principal, Chief of Staff, Family Office, and security teams
- Ensuring the residence operates with calm efficiency, discretion, and seamless attention to detail at all times
Candidate Profile
- Proven senior leadership experience within a recognised five-star hospitality environment, luxury private members’ club, boutique retreat, or ultra-high-end private residence
- Strong understanding of modern luxury service — intuitive, discreet, polished, and personalised
- Experience overseeing complex private residences or luxury hospitality operations
- Naturally hands-on with exceptional operational awareness and attention to detail
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities
- Highly organised, proactive, and solutions-focused
- Calm under pressure with excellent judgement and emotional intelligence
- Low ego, discreet, and highly professional in approach
- Comfortable taking full ownership within a live-in residential environment
