Job Description
Purpose of the Role
To act as a bridge between Product teams and clients, providing in-depth knowledge and support for a specific range of products.
Accountabilities
- Provision of SME expertise on specific products and services to customers and colleagues, including features, functionalities, benefits, limitations, risks, and compliance
- Understanding of market trends, new features, regulatory requirements, and potential risks, and analysis of data obtained from sales figures and customer feedback, to support the product development process, and communicate key findings to relevant stakeholders to improve product offerings.
- Response to customer inquiries and obtain a detailed understanding of complex personal/corporate financial circumstances in order to provide options for suitable product solutions. Support with resolution of issues, and provision of guidance on product usage.
- Assistance with the development and execution of marketing materials for the product, such as pitch materials and client presentations.
- Participation in training sessions and workshops to share product knowledge and expertise with colleagues and other stakeholders.

- For an individual contributor, they will lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments. They will identify new directions for assignments and/or projects, identifying a combination of cross-functional methodologies or practices to meet required outcomes.
- Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
- Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
- Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
- Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
- Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practices (in other areas, teams, companies, etc.) to solve problems creatively and effectively.
- Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
- Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Join us as an Investments Specialist
In the Private Markets team within the Investments Private Bank and Wealth Management (PB&WM) business. The Private Markets team is responsible for the PB&WM Private Markets offering, including the Barclays Private Assets Programme, Multi-Vintage Portfolios, the Direct Investments Platform, and Venture Capital Products.

This Investment Specialist role focuses on strategic activities and business management associated with our entire Private Markets proposition.
As an Investment Specialist, your role will entail supporting the Global Head of Private Markets in:
- Managing internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Handling and coordinating responses to data requests or otherwise from the CEO office and other senior stakeholders
- Overseeing and coordinating strategic projects
- Undertaking business management activities
- Aligning the team’s activities and ensuring synergies and cohesion amongst the various functions
- Representing the team in a variety of internal and external forums or mediums
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
- Experience or an interest in Private Markets
- Attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and make decisions independent of significant support from colleagues and management
- Strong understanding of risk management, stakeholder management, and project management
- Effective communication and presentation skills, including the ability to convey information clearly to a broad range of technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work in a collegiate manner to actively share knowledge and experience in order to meet commercial and business objectives
- Demonstrate a willingness and ability to take on tasks and processes from members of the team
Desirable Skills/Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in Business Management, Chief of Staff, Strategy, or Product Governance for Investment products.
- Experience in the PBWM and Barclays group echo system, with a clear understanding of internal frameworks
- Ability to apply critical and strategic thinking whilst undertaking a wide range of activities to support the overall growth and impact of the team

This role is based in London.
