Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and organised full-time Private Patient Administrator to join the Private Patient Unit at Frimley Park Hospital.
Monday - Friday 09:00-17:00
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Private Patient Service, ensuring the efficient management of private patient bookings, admissions, appointments, insurance authorisations, and payment processes. Working closely with consultants, patients, insurers, and clinical teams, you will play a key role in delivering a professional, responsive, and high-quality service.
This role requires excellent communication, organisational and IT skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. You will be responsible for maintaining patient records across multiple systems, supporting income-generating activity, and ensuring compliance with Trust standards for data quality, confidentiality, and customer care.

Main duties of the job
As a Private Patient Administrator, you will provide a comprehensive administrative service to support the day-to-day operation of the Private Patient Unit. You will be responsible for managing private patient bookings, admissions, outpatient appointments, and associated administrative processes, ensuring a professional and efficient service is delivered at all times.
The role involves liaising with patients, consultants, clinical teams, and insurance companies to coordinate appointments, obtain pre-authorisations, process payments, and maintain accurate patient records. You will use a range of Trust and private patient systems to ensure data is recorded accurately and in line with information governance requirements.
You will be expected to manage a varied workload, respond to patient enquiries, prepare correspondence and admission documentation, support theatre scheduling activities, and help maximise the efficient use of private patient facilities. The successful candidate will contribute to delivering an excellent patient experience while supporting the financial and operational objectives of the Private Patient Service.
The post requires excellent organisational, communication, and IT skills, together with a commitment to providing high standards of customer care and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous administrative or office experience, with the ability to manage workload effectively and provide a high standard of customer service.
Desirable criteria
- Experience working within an NHS, healthcare or private patient environment.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook, with the ability to accurately maintain electronic records and databases.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of Hospital Systems EPIC
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Good general education to GCSE level (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics, or equivalent relevant experience.
