Private Sector Housing Officer - North West
£40-£45 per hour | Initial 6-Month Contract | High Chance of Extension

Are you an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer looking for your next local authority contract in the North West? We are currently working with a council seeking a skilled officer to join their Private Sector Housing team on an initial 6-month contract, with a strong possibility of extension.
This role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive team while benefiting from flexible working arrangements and a varied caseload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting inspections of residential properties.
- Assessing hazards using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
- Investigating housing complaints and disrepair cases.
- Serving statutory notices and undertaking enforcement action where required.
- Managing HMO-related work, including licensing and compliance.
- Liaising effectively with landlords, tenants, managing agents, and other stakeholders.
- Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with housing legislation.

Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a Local Authority Private Sector Housing team.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- HHSRS
- Housing Act 2004
- Enforcement processes
- HMO Licensing
- Private Sector Housing legislation
- Ability to manage a caseload independently.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.
