Role Description

We are seeking passionate, knowledgeable, and reliable tutors to join our growing team on a zero-hours contract. As a Tutor at Grade Power Academy, you will deliver engaging one-to-one online lessons tailored to each student’s individual needs, helping them strengthen subject knowledge, develop effective exam techniques, and achieve their academic goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Deliver high-quality online tuition to GCSE and/or A-Level students.
  • Plan and prepare personalised lessons based on each student’s learning needs.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities.
  • Support students with homework, revision, coursework, and examination preparation.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain professional communication with students, parents, and the Grade Power Academy team.
  • Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional standards at all times.

Qualifications & Person Specification

  • Strong subject knowledge in one or more GCSE and/or A-Level subjects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for education and helping students succeed.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • A reliable internet connection and appropriate equipment for delivering online lessons.
  • The right to work in the United Kingdom.

Desirable

  • Previous tutoring or teaching experience.
  • A degree (or currently studying towards one) in a relevant subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching UK GCSE and/or A-Level specifications.
  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
